Description
Travel back in time with this sweet alto saxophone. Made by Buescher in Elkhart, Indiana. With a stamped serial number 441,449, it was built in about 1969, which is the year that the previous owner's parents gifted it to him. So, actually, as Selmer bought Buescher in 1963, it's actually best considered as made by Selmer. The previous owner took very good care of it, but it has not been played in many years. Still, the pads are still supple and not torn, though likely original. The finish looks very fine. There is a notable spot of finish wear on the back by the serial number.
It comes with the Buescher neck strap; sheet music lyre; neck receiver cap; mouthpiece cap; Buescher mouthpiece with ligature marked France. The single reed that it comes with is old and worn.
It comes in the original Buescher hard case that has exterior cosmetic wear, but is in good solid condition. The case handle, latches, and hinges all work. It comes with a pair of case keys. And it
comes
with a pair of circa 1970 alto sax
instruction
books.
It's a fine old All-American saxophone that should be ready to play, except for needing a good reed.
