    ANTIQUE
    1890’s Gas Pendant Light – ORIG Deep Etched Shade
    A beautiful example of an 1890’s, solid brass gas pendant light with a large deep etched shade. Due to the design and form, I estimate it was manufactured in the early 1890’s. Complete with original parts - including the 5-inch fitter and smoke bell - the fixture has been electrified and cleaned. It is natural brass with no lacquer or finish, so it will continue to gain more patina over time.
    The shade is deep etched with a stylized floral and garland motif and is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. It rings like a bell when you tap the edge.
    The fixture has been painstakingly wired and fitted with a high quality, brass-shelled candelabra base socket. I have replaced the rusted inner gas pipe with a new fully threaded one. It looks fantastic an Edison bulb that is now available in a wide variety of sizes and wattages. I am showing the fixture with 40-watt small base bulb on a dimmer switch – which I highly recommend!
    The fixture as shown in photos is 32-inch total length, but if you need to reduce or increase the size - it is a simple matter of adding or removing the brass tubing and inner threaded pipe.
    The best part about this outstanding, 135-year-old fixture is that all you have to do is hang it. I am also including a modern mounting bracket that will attach to your ceiling electrical box.
