Becton Dickinson ProbeTec ET System is the first real-time DNA amplification assay for the detection of Chlamydia Trachomatis (CT) and Neisseria Gonorrhoeae (GC) based on proprietary BD technology. The BD ProbeTec ET can be performed on asymptomatic or symptomatic male and female patients using a simple urine specimen or from endocervical swabs and male urethral swabs. The isothermal SDA technology is utilized to generate billions of copies of target molecules from a single DNA or RNA template in the one-hour assay time.
The CT/GC assay reagents, which can be stored at room temperature, are provided in a dried-down format to save time and labor. For convenience CT may be tested alone or in combination with GC. Priming and amplification wells are color-coded maximizing the ease of use. An optional amplification control is available to monitor each specimen for the presence of inhibitors increasing testing flexibility. The closed reagent system reduces the risk of amplicon contamination and eliminates the need to carry out the procedure in multiple rooms.
Fast and efficient Generate CT/GC results for up to 46 patient samples in 3 hours— or 276 CT/GC results in one 8-hour shift. Total hands-on time is less than 2 minutes per sample.
Features:
-
High Throughput - 552 test results per 8 hour shift
- Excellent reliability
- Only 1 moving part
- MTBF of over 2 years
- Simultaneous amplification and detection
- Closed, solid barrier amplification reaction system
- Isothermal
- Low maintenance
- Efficient workflow
- LIS Capable
BD ProbeTec ET Pipettor
- 8 samples at a time
- programmable - touch of a button
- performs aspiration & dispense step
- Re-chargeable
- Uses aerosol resistant tips with filter
Proven and powerful
Molecular detection based on strand displacement amplification (SDA) technology makes BD ProbeTec ET CT/GC Amplified DNA Assays highly sensitive and specific for CT/GC.1,2 The assays are intended for use with male urethral and urine samples as well as with female endocervical and urine samples.3
Compact and easy to use
The system requires as little as 10 feet of bench space. You don’t need any special facilities, and it’s easy to learn and use.
Tried and true
Expect trouble-free uptime. The BD ProbeTec ET System has a mean time between failure (MTBF) of 2 years. It’s also backed by BD Total System Integrity™ , which helps to explain why more than 1,100 laboratories have selected the BD ProbeTec ET platform and assays for testing their CT/GC specimens.
Simplified workflow, superior results
STEP 1:
Process urines and lyse specimens.
STEP 2:
Lysed specimens are combined with primer reagents and amplified.
STEP 3:
Amplified sample is sealed and placed on the BD ProbeTec ET instrument. Results are ready in 60 minutes. Molecular testing that works in your lab
The practical approach to molecular testing
As the need for CT/GC testing grows, an increasing number of laboratories are adopting molecular detection technology for routine use. The BD ProbeTec ET System makes that practical. The technology is proven. The training is minimal. The results are reliable. And it’s easy to integrate the BD ProbeTec ET System in terms of time, space, workflow and cost efficiency
