    Description

    One of Buck Showalter's uniquely modified field jackets - short sleeves and sewed closed up the front. This jacket was donated by Showalter to a charity auction and is from early in the 1999 season.
    A native of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, Buck Showalter was selected in Round 5 of the 1977 MLB Amateur Draft by the New York Yankees, and played in the Yankees minor league system through 1983. Showalter was the Manager of the Major League New York Yankees for four years, beginning in 1992, and subsequently managed the Arizona Diamondbacks (1996-2000), Texas Rangers (2003-2006) and Baltimore Orioles (2010-2018).
