Owner is motivated to sell $$$!. Might be taking it off the market till fall if it does not.Yes we are a vintage stringed instrument shop specializing in guitars and related vintage gear. However I have sold hundreds of high end wind instruments over the past 4 decades and a couple of dozen fine Mark Vl saxophones as well.
Here we have a very fine 1971 Buescher model 400 Alto saxophone. It is the last of a series of saxophones we have sold out of a collectors collection. This horn is so clean it has the look of being new and not 51 years old.
Serial# 534481.
The pads look new and show no wear. In fact there is hardly any real wear anywhere on the instrument
except some light surface blemishes on the usual very bottom of the horn and hard to find small surface blemishes you have to strain to see scattered around the instrument.
There is some slight corrosion around the serial# and on the tip of the neck as seen in pictures.
Original laquer is 95% there and has magnificent luster.
Minimal light hard to see surface scratching. NOTE: The bell is perfectly round with no dings, dents, or repairs. Not enough pictures to show it.
Sax comes with pictured 4 pro mouthpices as follows.
Selmer 10 letter O
Selmer S-80 C+
Clark & Forbes Debut
Yamaha 4C
Plus a strap, reed holder, cap.
The original hard case is in very good fully functional condition with no issues.
Checked, serviced, and just slightly adjusted by a Detroit Symphony employed
wind instrument technician I have known for over 40 years. She replaced a cork on the neck.
Play tested and ready to ship!
A 51 year old well cared for TONE machine. She played it in the store and it sounded Fabulous!
