What an incredible plate of San Antonio, Texas!
This plate celebrates San Antonio’s rich heritage, and  features many fabulous scenes around San Antonio. The center image is signed
“WARREN HUNTER”,
and shows the entrance to La Villita. Around the rim are 10 unique images, each titled and dated. Some of these include
The Alamo
Mission San Jose
The Caxias House
Arneson River Theatre
Bolivar Building
The Cos House
,
and many more.
The plate measures 10" in diameter. The rim scenes are done in a sepia tone, the rim is edged with gold. The center image is full color over sepia. It is marked on the back:
“LA VILLITA
OLD SPANISH VILLAGE
PAN-AMERICAN AND COMMUNITY CENTER
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS
1951
”.
Also included in the mark is a description of the La Villita center, the Staffordshire Crown Devon Jonroth maker’s mark.
Condition is superb, even mint! No sign of use or wear, and no damage at all.
A must for your San Antonio or state plate collection!
