    Description

Early ‘70s student model alto Saxophone. Serial no. 52923 and “Italy” stamped on the back. All the keys work well, no sticking or squeaking. Mouthpiece cork is intact. The lacquer is worn and the instrument will likely need new pads. The word “Medalist” is stamped into the metal on the bell. This leads me to believe it is a Borgani ‘stencil’ saxophone. Stencil saxes were made by an instrument manufacturer for another company to put their name on and sell. The reed sleeve says Van Doren, Paris (reed manufacturer) and G. LeBlanc corporation, Kenosha, WI (instrument company bought by Conn-Selmer in 2004). The case is in great working order, it has some minor scuffs visible in the photos and the strap to snap the compartment close is detached but otherwise intact.
