king vintage 1915era , 37079 alto sax low pitch silver plate original case

Here’s a true classic sax . I’m not a player and honestly haven’t heard it played through the scales but I believe it would be a fine sax to have in the right hands . I think the gold and silver plating alone is pretty neat. It looks to have not been cleaned I’m not gonna say ever but looks to have been in the hands of a true player and he played the hell out of it instead of just displaying a polished up instrument . Will need to be totally reconditioned with pads and springs and adjustments good chance it won’t play as is, sorry I can’t tell you more about the playability because I’m not one.  It was a one owner passed to grandson and the story is that he played with Dorsey in his early days before he became successful. 109 yrs old according to the serial number. I can only imagine the quality of this instrument . You sax guys know what to do with it . I guess I should clean it but I hated to because of the history . Actually the more I dwell on it I realize that there’s a good chance this horn was in the same room as Dorsey …. And being a musician I know that usually everybody in the band wants to try your instrument and since Dorsey was there I’m sure his lips touched this sax if one was to elaborate for whatever the reason . aCould be worth a lot more if I had some proof or might be better off displayed on the wall.
