1930 King “New” Voll True Alto Saxophone.
Serial 121,XXX
In great condition with 99% of the original satin silver plating left on the body and bell, Gold wash bell still shining like new. The plating has worn off of most of the keys leaving behind a beautiful patina that contrasts nicely with the satin silver body. Includes a bare brass weighted ergonomic neck screw. The pads are newer and are still in great shape, the horn plays top to bottom and had just been regulated and checked for leaks by my tech. Will come with a fairly new Protec fitted case if I get full asking price, otherwise will come in the original case. No other accessories will be included
No visible repairs, minor scratches here and there and minor wear on the thumb guard, but no other damage. The G# trill key is working but the Eb trill is sprung closed as it is not used.
This horn has a nice, full, fat vintage tone that king horns are known for. Some players report intonation issues with these horns using a smaller chamber mouthpiece but I have found the horn to play very well in tune evenly across the horn with a large chamber mouthpiece. Altissimo is crazy easy. I can send a video demonstrating the horn upon request.
