Vintage 1933 Martin Columbia Band Instruments Elkhart Indiana Low Pitch Baritone Saxophone
Serial # 9245
Up for sale we have a Vintage Baritone Saxophone in Playable Condition. The Sax plays & sounds great even considereding the age. However the pads does need to be changed soon they are slightly dry. Also, the sax does have scuffs, scratches & dents as shown in the photos. It will eventually need an overhaul. It has Bevelled Tone Holes & plays to a low B Flat.
Overall considering its age this could either be a Collectors Dream or a Project Saxophone.
So the story behind this Saxophone is a peculiar one, the Saxophone brand is a Martin Circa 1933. However I can tell you that Columbia Band Instruments is hand etched & on the Saxophone. Back in the days they would have custom instruments from manufactures & they would give these instruments away to musicians that couldnt afford them. To us thats a interesting story.
Listing Includes Baritone Saxophone, Neck & Rico Royal 5 Mouthiece in Hard Shell Case. The Leather on the case is dried up & slowly withering away.
