Vintage '22 BUESCHER True Tone Alto Sax w/Vint. Bundy Case - Very Good Condition

1922 Vintage BUESCHER True Tone Alto Sax w/Vintage Bundy Case. Serial #118513.
This is a rare beauty that doesn't come around often. The horn has been cleaned and adjusted, and plays very good with a clear, robust tone on the included Rico Royal C7 mouthpiece. Pads, felts, and corking are in very good shape and the springs show very good response. Cosmetically, there are some scuffs and scratches, but most of the wear is evident around the bow with a small dent, a couple dings, a little lacquer wear, and some scuffs. A "stop" post was missing under the lower left palm key (pic #9), so I added a thin black felt under the key and a round black felt where the post was. Saxophones from the 20's were either silver plated or unlacquered brass. This one has silver plated keys and, I believe, the brass body was lacquered much later. There's a slight color shift on the lacquered body that either indicates that the lacquer is old or the differing shades of the brass came through. This is a very nice piece of sax history, suitable for any collector and a very cool jazz horn. Included with this awesome horn is a nice vintage Bundy case, a new microfiber polishing cloth, a new neckstrap, a black octave key protector cap, and the Rico Royal C7 mouthpiece w/vintage ligature, cap, and Rico Plasticover reed.
