This is a CORONA 3 left shift.
This is an American-made masterpiece that Hemingway loved. The double shift system allows three types of characters to be engraved on the printing keys. The serial number suggests that this item is from around 1922, about 100 years ago, which is quite moving.
There was a malfunction due to aging and missing parts, so we disassembled it as much as possible and fixed the problem. We cleaned off rust and dirt, applied lubricant, and maintained it so that it could be typed.
The original wire that moves the carriage is string-like, so there is a high risk of it breaking due to aging. We have replaced it with a metal substitute wire so that it can be used for a long time.
Some keys do not return well when typing quickly or strongly. In addition, the ink ribbon is twisted, so please manually wind it onto the spool.
We have confirmed that there are no problems with other operations. Since it has not been used for a long time, there is a risk of malfunction, but normal typing operation is smooth. There is also a typing end sound and a ding sound.
The ink ribbon was rewound onto the original spool with a new one. Some characters are printed in red and black. We recommend black printing for important typing. Please check the image for the printing condition.
When replacing the ink ribbon, you cannot use commercially available spools, so you will have to rewind the ribbon with the original spool.
Includes an original brush and oil container. You can use it as you like, but please enjoy the atmosphere.
The frame and each operating part have been painted close to the original color because the paint has peeled off, rust, and dirt. There are color unevenness, fine scratches and dirt from assembly after painting.
The CORONA logo on the type key and the trademark on the paper feed part are original, but the letters on the front and back have been created and attached as labels.
The hard case has been repaired for major damage such as cracks. The scratches and dirt were painted black, but they could not be hidden, so we have taken advantage of that and painted it to look worn and damaged.
The product can be used immediately after arrival. We will include a simple operating manual made by ourselves, including how to operate the key buttons and each lever, and how to replace the ribbon. This is not a complete explanation, but I think it can be used.
It is a working item, but it is an old item and may have defects due to aging.
